Short-term overseas travels and vacations
If you travel outside of the United States even for a short trip, purchasing a supplemental travel insurance plan can provide protection for unexpected injuries and illness that may not be covered by your domestic health insurance policy. For some with young children or elderly parents, it is important to have insurance that will protect the non-reimbursable expenses incurred during a foreign vacation should a dependent or parent incur an unexpected illness or injury prior to or during your holiday. If you are covered under a Medicare Supplement or Medicare Advantage plan, your coverage outside of the USA is limited to $50,000 during your lifetime. As such, you need additional medical coverage when you travel internationally.

Foreign travel insurance plans for short periods are inexpensive and protect both your assets and your health. Call or
e-mail me for more information about international travel insurance options.

Longer-term overseas visits
If you will be living abroad for more than six months and have a domestic health insurance policy, illnesses and injuries incurred overseas are typically not covered. Check with your existing carrier to understand your benefits.

If you plan to be overseas for a year or more, it often makes sense to carry a more comprehensive international medical insurance plan. Call or
e-mail me for more information about international travel insurance options.

Pandemic Coverage
With the onset of a worldwide pandemic in early 2020, the travel insurance industry was forced to adjust its terms, coverage, policies and prices. If you want to be covered for pandemic-related issues, you need to consider a number of factors before making a travel insurance investment. Call or
e-mail me for more information about international travel insurance options that cover pandemics.
